28 July is World Hepatitis Day 2025 - Together for a future without hepatitis
News — 09.07.2025
Hepatitis is preventable and treatable - and yet millions of people around the world are affected. To mark World Hepatitis Day, we are calling for barriers to be broken down and solutions to be promoted.
Breaking down barriers together - eliminating hepatitis now
On this year's World Hepatitis Day, we at Hepatitis Switzerland are calling for the removal of the obstacles that continue to stand in the way of eliminating viral hepatitis - even though it is preventable and treatable. Together with our network, our members and partner organisations, we are committed to ensuring that viral hepatitis soon becomes a thing of the past.
All affected people have the right to understandable information, early diagnosis, effective treatment - and support without fear of exclusion or stigmatisation.
Healthcare professionals, authorities and institutions play a key role in facilitating change - be it in prevention, medical care or policy-making. Their commitment is needed: for more information, better access to low-threshold diagnostics and treatment, especially for defined key groups.
