The study will determine the optimal model for HCV screening in Switzerland.
Today there is an official recommendation to test risk populations for hepatitis C. However, one third of those affected know nothing of their own diagnosis. In order for more people to be tested, diagnosed and treated, feasible testing strategies and recommendations that are well accepted by primary care providers are needed.
The feasibility of a risk-based testing strategy versus a strategy that tests specific birth cohorts will be evaluated for primary care providers. General practitioners and their patients are interviewed.
